On the other hand, Sarita, the older of the two, had given her given her child breast milk only on the third day. That was after priest came and declared the hour was auspicious to start breastfeeding. But she conceivd her second child when Anjana was seven month pregnant. By now the entire behaviour pattern had undergone a sea change in the household, thanks to Neetu and Anjana’s progressive approach. It must also be said that Anjana's and Sarita's in-laws were also very receptive towards the BCC recommendations. They took interest and encouraged their daughter in-law.

Both women added spinach soup, bathua leaves, carrots, etc., to their diet. When Sarita's second child was born two months ago, she started breastfeeding within an hour of its birth.
